When we live in our own society and under normal circumstances, what we have done and what we have achieved are what make us “us”. The important stages and major turning points are our life as we have lived it.
But, when chance or sickness or any outside influence over which we have no control make themselves known to us, then we become isolated and fearful and the veneer, the façade, of what we think we are, rapidly fades.
And beneath this another life begins to emerge, known only to us, our true spirit and body, not recorded anywhere. It has little or no connection with our social success but for better or worse, it is the only one that is important and “real”.
We may see a long succession of undertakings, setback, battles and heroic acts, lucky breaks, sacrifices and all too frequent compromises, which only WE can know about.
I am aware of my “other” curriculum vitae and it includes all those aspects from above.
May I ask you – do you know what is yours?
Until next time,
P.S.
Every text I find on this blog make me think, but this one is almost blowing readers' mind :) Great job, thank you for doing it!
