I have been invited to attend a very large party to “honour” a “distinguished” member of “society”. I shall not attend.
Why?
Two basic reasons:
Firstly, in these difficult times I believe people, irrespective of who they (think) they are, should show restraint within their public and private lifestyles – this individual did not fall into the category of those showing restraint – in any form.
Secondly, such “events” are, for me, what I term “the sycophants ball” – an opportunity for all the dead-beat “hangers-on” to express their “gratitude” to the Big Chief (who protects them as long as they are of some value and often even when they are not).
What I am saying is that being a “personality” is a long way away from having a personality in the majority of cases – something that many of the “personalities” do not wish to, or cannot, understand.
Until next time,
P.S.
