A RECENT INVENTION

Comparatively speaking, that is. It is hard to place a value on it although many have tried and failed. Some have grown rich using it whilst others have wasted money on trying to use it to their best possible advantage without giving any thought to the invention itself.

Indeed, the recent invention has already been seen to be (slowly) learning from its previous mistakes but the general opinion is that it will take several more decades (if not centuries) to fully understand itself.

And that presupposes that the recent invention is clever enough and capable enough of continuing its current level of adaptability and I am not at all sure that it has the will-power so to do. For in the recent past it has shown remarkable intelligence to damage itself, possibly in the belief that this is part of its in-built programming and that such a course has to be followed in order to achieve a higher level of “betterment”.

The invention has a name:

The Human Race

And to paraphrase Gracián “it is a work in progress”……

Until next time (with progress),

  1. Beautifully said! Only, it will take millenia to fully understand itself, if it survives for so long. It has been infected by several viruses and it needs to find an effective anti-virus programme. Only those who do manage to find it are usually done away with....

  2. Lucana - super comment! I really like the idea of finding an anti-virus program. I totally agree that those who do find one are often outcasts as they do not "obey the norms of society"!

  3. P.S. - you have a cynical mind - but I agree 100% with the concept. I have used this at school and the general opinion was (perhaps surprisingly) full agreement plus a desire to change! Thanks!

  4. Thanks, Anonymous. Maybe I am cynical (70 years of experience in this field) but learning is a long, slow process as you know and I am sure that eventually "all be put right" but have no idea by whom.....
