A TIME FOR EVERYTHING

And everything in its time. Another aspect from my “soul-mate”, Gracián, who suggests people of stature (renown) arrive at their own good time. But not all achieve that which they are capable of achieving, or fail to take advantage of their renown at the time. Some are born before their time and might have achieved even more greatness had they lived earlier or later than they did, for not everything that is good achieves the recognition it deserves, and even renown takes second place to time.

However, wisdom, which has to be earned, is eternal - if it does not appear in one century it will appear in its own good time. But appear it will.

If I look around at the “celebrities”, “talking heads” and “gurus” of today, I see instant gratification of the masses; but such people are ephemeral – here today, forgotten tomorrow (and perhaps that’s the best - for them and us). Their words will never instil a light of understanding, just a brief flicker of passing interest – a candle in the wind.

And I point these words at leaders – not necessarily global names but all those who are leaders or seek to lead. Pay little attention to those who seek to flatter and impress; seek out those who give selflessly for they have the wisdom that you need. In a few words, I would suggest

“A leader without good advisors is like a
blind man being led by a child”

It’s your future: make of it what you wish, but give time to consider these few words….

Until next time (and no instant gratification),

  1. Super, P.S. this is THE one I have been waiting for! The "cult of the nobody" survives because those who are "talking heads" only speak to those who have just a shallow level of thinking - if they think at all. And as long as the great majority of people follow this path it makes life "difficult" for those who think deeply. No instant gratification for me - or those I teach! Thanks

  2. Thanks, Anonymous....this is something I believe in as you can read. Too often people are presented with vague ideas (not even "spin") and are supposed to form opinions based on incomplete data. No wonder most of them are going down the drain - but they don't know it!!!

  3. Brilliant!
And I'd add: they probably do know deep inside they are going down the drain, but do not care enough to alter their patterns of behavior. Instant gratification is their goal, as it is also easier to achieve.
Sadly, currently Croatia is the perfect reign for such "personages".

  4. Thanks, Lucana. I personally now believe this "condition" is found everywhere and is on the increase....but we must continue to do what WE as individuals perceive as being "right".
