THE FINAL DAYS OF SHOULD
Banks "should" be open when WE need them to be open.
Books "should" be 200 pages long - no more, no less.
All senior executives "should" be highly educated.
Blogs "should" attract comments.
Business people "should" be men.
Big deals "should" be done by lawyers.
Good employees "should" work at the same company for most of their life.
These are statements that remake our current situation and we cannot really live without a re-made world...
How many of them are valid today - were they EVER valid?
My point is - find your own "should" - AND GET RID OF IT!
Until next time (and living realistically),

A very appropriate piece, P.S. I am working on me - and excellent for class discussion and debate!

Mark thank you - I think you will have some interesting answers in class!
ReplyDeleteAn extremely interesting piece, looking for a deeper insight as usual. Getting rid of our own "should" is quite a challenge, yet it is probably worth a try.

Lucana - I think trying to live in a "make-believe" world stops us from being as effective as we could be, so yes, it's worth a try.
