HOW'S YOUR SPIRIT?

I ask because many people I know are so engrossed with the small mundane details of their everyday existence, are fed up with the daily grind of hardship or just internally rebellious against the limitless laws which govern their every move. As a result, they don’t have time to consider their inner selves. I think my spirit is in pretty good shape and the picture opposite is how I see it - and no, I’m not crazy, but just have a huge thirst for knowledge (understanding, if you prefer).

Seventy years have taught (and shown) me that if I want to “become” an individual, I need to make sacrifices; I have to leave behind any fear of being “outside the norms of society” and to a limited extent I have done that but still need to work hard on the last part of the journey. I am no linger frustrated with the often apparent meaningless of aspects of life and I have no need to conform as so many do.

So far, I have learned and understood that “I” am my own unlimited vision of freedom, and have the need and space to be myself, my true self, here and now and that there is not much that can stand in my way.

One reason for my writing this blog is to share my ideals and interesting experiences with as many as possible whilst accepting that not all will either accept or agree with my views – but that’s life and I can accept it without concern.

There is a lovely African proverb that says:

a blind man can take a bold step by seeing clearly with the eyes of his faith”.

And that I can agree with totally……

(A word of gratitude to my good friend Christian-David Gadler who took the superb photographs).

Until next time (and flying high),

  1. Good luck P.S. and a great blog which shows the REAL spirit within each of us. All we have to do is "learn" how to release it and give it our best efforts to move onwards and upwards. We are finalising our motto at school so will let you know when you get back. Will be in contact privately.

  4. Brilliant! Beautiful photographs!
Soaring high, aiming high, totally free. It is great to be reminded of the most important things, as we are all often too "engrossed with mundane details".

  6. Lucana - thanks. It took a lot of effort to make this piece not sound "morbid" but I think the words and pictures combined give it an "upbeat" flavour - and that's what I wanted
