It is often difficult to come to terms with the fact that we cannot do everything we would wish either through lack of time or external factors beyond our control. Nevertheless, we carry on to the best of our ability – and that’s great. It’s what we are here for; to overcome the negatives we meet on our journey.
After all my years, am I happy? You bet I am. It’s been a long time and when I drag to the surface all the secrets and memories I can honestly say that I have a smile on my face. Maybe, to quote Bob Dylan, I’m “like a rolling stone - a complete unknown” – and I have not done all those things I set out to do; but so what? I think I have made every second have a value (to me and I hope to others), and that’s my lifestyle…
I don’t fully understand yet what the full impact is, but I like it – and with luck, I shall maintain my attitudes and values until I am “pushing up the daisies”. So, I shall sail on with my smile and hopefully meet life face-to-face in all its wonders – and that’s my motivation.
I ask you – please find your one right way and stay with it, since if you don’t, you will end up as the title suggests:
“whoever seeks his own ruin…..” *
Until next time,
P.S.
*these are the opening few words of an old Italian proverb
